How to turn off Windows Security Center alerts?

Windows Security Center Alerts you through a taskbar icon on our system tray and keeps reminding you that your system is vulnerable to attack since you do not have an Anti-Virus, Firewall and/or Automatic updates disabled. Sometimes it becomes annoying and you would definitely want to hide the taskbar icon from troubling you. It troubles me too and I just learnt how to get rid of it. I hope that you understand that your system is still vulnerable.

1. Click on Start ---> Control Panel
2. Double click on Security Center
3. On the left pane under Resources, click 'Change the way Security Center alerts me'
4. In the Alert Settings dialog box, uncheck the Firewall, Automatic Updates and Virus Protection check boxes, and then click OK.

How to disable Windows XP's error reporting?

1. Click Start --> COntrol Panel --> System
2. Click on the Advanced tab on the top
3. Click the Error Reporting button in the Startup and Recovery section
4. Click on the Disable error reporting button or custmize it the way you want it
5. Click on Ok --> Apply
